Role Overview
Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Legal Practice Manager to help shape the future of our legal and home ownership services.
We're creating a modern, high-performing in-house legal service and we're looking for someone who understands how legal operations work and enjoys making things run smoothly.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day management of our Legal and Home Ownership teams. You'll help us create the systems, processes and controls that keep work flowing, support colleagues to perform at their best and ensure we're delivering a professional, efficient and customer-focused service.
You'll oversee workflow and case progression, support performance and resource management, manage relationships with external legal providers and use data to identify opportunities for improvement. You'll also help us embed the practice management disciplines that underpin a successful legal service, creating greater visibility, consistency and accountability across the team.
This isn't about changing things for the sake of it. We're looking for someone who can build on what's already working, introduce practical improvements and help create the right foundations for future success.
If you enjoy bringing structure to complexity, solving problems and helping teams deliver great outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a hybrid role, offering a balance of home and office working. You'll be expected to spend 2-3 days per week working from our fantastic Hudson Quay office in Middlesbrough, with the remainder of your time working from home. As business and team needs can vary, you'll need to be adaptable and may be required to spend additional time in the office when needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
