Legal Project Manager

Central London, Hybrid working £80,000 - £100,000 + Benefits

The Company

A leading law firm with a market-leading disputes and investigations practice is seeking to strengthen its legal project management capability.

The firm regularly advises on high-profile litigation & regulatory investigations, working alongside some of the most respected disputes lawyers in the market. It has built a reputation for combining legal excellence with disciplined project delivery, giving clients confidence on their most complex and sensitive matters. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role at the heart of the firm's disputes practice, working closely with partners on matters of genuine scale and significance.

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Project Manager

  • Lead complex matter delivery - Plan, budget and resource high-value litigation and disclosure exercises from inception through to resolution.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams - Bring together partners, associates, paralegals and eDiscovery specialists to keep matters on track and within scope.
  • Manage budgets and reporting - Track costs, monitor scope changes and produce clear status reports for partners and clients.
  • Advise on legal technology - Recommend and implement project management and disclosure tools that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Drive best practice and improvement - Embed consistent project management methodology across matters and support wider continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Attributes of the Legal Project Manager

  • Proven litigation LPM experience - A track record managing complex disputes, or investigations work within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Project management qualification - Formal certification such as APM or PRINCE2 is desirable, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Confident stakeholder management - Able to influence partners, clients and senior leadership with credibility, diplomacy and clear communication.
  • Strong technology and budgeting skills - Proficient with project management, eDiscovery and financial tracking tools, including advanced Excel.
  • Excellent judgement and discretion - Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential material under pressure and to tight deadlines.
