About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Lawyers and Legal Writers to contribute to a project focused on evaluating and improving advanced AI systems. In this role, you will apply your legal writing, editing, and analytical expertise to assess how effectively AI systems generate legal and technical content.
This is an evaluation and analysis engagement rather than a legal-advice or legal-representation role. The focus is on applying professional legal judgment to determine whether written content is precise, appropriately qualified, well-supported, tailored to its intended audience, and free from unsupported conclusions or overstatement.
This opportunity is ideal for legal professionals with strong experience drafting, reviewing, editing, and evaluating legal documents across a variety of practice areas. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and compare AI-generated responses to legal and technical prompts.
- Assess written content for clarity, structure, tone, precision, and compliance with instructions.
- Assign quality ratings and provide detailed written justifications for evaluations.
- Identify unsupported claims, overstatements, ambiguities, inconsistencies, and factual inaccuracies.
- Review legal reasoning, analysis, and arguments for completeness and accuracy.
- Evaluate whether content is appropriately tailored to legal, regulatory, client, or public audiences.
- Assess the use of legal terminology, qualifications, citations, and supporting rationale.
- Document findings accurately using digital review and annotation platforms.
- Maintain consistency with project guidelines and evaluation standards.
- Work independently while managing assigned deliverables and deadlines.
- Apply professional legal-writing judgment across a wide variety of content types.

Required Qualifications
- Qualifying law degree from a university in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Strong professional-level written English and exceptional written communication skills.
- Experience drafting legal documents such as briefs, motions, legal memoranda, legal opinions, regulatory submissions, or similar materials.
- Strong legal writing, editing, proofreading, and document-review capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to identify unsupported claims, ambiguity, overstatement, and factual inaccuracies.
- Strong ability to assess audience appropriateness and communication effectiveness.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reviewing, editing, or supervising legal writing produced by junior lawyers, trainees, or paralegals.
- Experience evaluating written content intended for legal, regulatory, client, or public audiences.
- Familiarity with document-review platforms, annotation tools, or quality-assurance workflows.
- Experience with content evaluation, structured review processes, or editorial quality control.
- Exposure to AI evaluation, RLHF, model assessment, or related projects.
- Strong ability to distinguish precise legal analysis from confident but insufficiently supported writing.
- Experience across multiple legal disciplines, including litigation, regulatory, compliance, transactional, or advisory work.
