Job Title: Legal Secretary

Location: Harrogate

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm

Are you an experienced Legal Secretary ready for your next move?

We’re looking for a confident, organised and proactive Legal Secretary to join an established and supportive legal team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy working environment, takes pride in delivering high quality work and wants to play a key role in supporting fee earners and delivering an excellent service to clients.

You’ll provide secretarial and administrative support across a varied workload, helping to keep matters organised, deadlines on track and the wider team running efficiently.

We’re open to Legal Secretaries from any area of law.

About The Role

You will become an important part of the team, helping to keep files organised, deadlines on track and clients fully informed throughout their transactions.

Key Responsibilities Of a Legal Secretary

  • Providing efficient secretarial and administrative support to fee earners and the wider legal team
  • Preparing, formatting and processing correspondence, documents and reports
  • Opening, maintaining and closing client files in line with firm procedures
  • Liaising professionally with clients, colleagues and external contacts by telephone and email
  • Assisting fee earners with the day-to-day progression and administration of client matters
  • Maintaining accurate client records, case management systems and electronic and paper files
  • Monitoring key dates, deadlines and outstanding actions to ensure matters progress efficiently
  • Supporting diary management, meetings, billing, time recording and other administrative processes
  • Providing a professional, friendly and responsive service to clients at all times
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the department and supporting the wider team as required

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Legal Secretary or similar legal support role
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident managing a varied workload and competing deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, approachable and confident when dealing with clients and colleagues
  • Good IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn and use case management systems
  • A proactive, reliable and solutions focused approach
  • A genuine team player who takes ownership and pride in their work
  • Committed to delivering a professional and positive client experience
