Residential Property Legal Administrator / Legal Secretary
📍 Margate, Kent
💼 Full-time | Permanent
🕘 Monday to Friday | 9.00am – 5.00pm
We’re working with one of East Kent’s longest-established and highly regarded law firms, who are looking to recruit an experienced and organised Legal Administrator or Legal Secretary to join their Residential Property team in Margate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with legal support experience, ideally within residential conveyancing, who enjoys working closely with clients and fee earners and wants to become an integral part of a busy and established property team.
The Role
Working alongside one of the firm’s conveyancing lawyers, you’ll provide dedicated secretarial and administrative support, helping to manage a busy residential property caseload and ensuring matters progress efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing correspondence, contracts and legal documents
- Opening new client files and completing client onboarding procedures
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors
- Answering telephone and email enquiries
- Maintaining accurate electronic files and document management systems
- Assisting with all aspects of residential conveyancing administration
- Supporting post-completion work
- Providing day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to a busy conveyancing lawyer
- Helping to ensure client matters progress efficiently and within required timescales

About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced as a Legal Administrator, Legal Secretary or in a similar legal support role
- Ideally experienced within residential conveyancing, although this is not essential
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
- Confident dealing with clients and third parties
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Proactive, reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable working closely with and supporting a busy fee earner
- Professional and client-focused, with a strong commitment to providing excellent service
