Conveyancing Secretary

Location: Epsom, Surrey

Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5:00pm

The Opportunity

A well-established and friendly Legal Practice in near Epsom is seeking an experienced Legal Conveyancing Secretary to join its busy Residential Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and highly organised legal secretary with conveyancing experience and working knowledge of LEAP case management software.

You will play a key role in supporting Fee Earners throughout the conveyancing process, ensuring transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Conveyancing Fee Earners.
  • Preparing correspondence, legal documents, contracts, and completion statements.
  • Opening new client files and carrying out file management procedures.
  • Managing diaries, appointments, and client meetings.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors throughout transactions.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post, emails, and telephone enquiries.
  • Updating and maintaining client records using LEAP software.
  • Assisting with exchange and completion processes.
  • Requesting searches and obtaining Land Registry documentation.
  • Drafting and issuing standard conveyancing documentation.
  • Undertaking audio and copy typing as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary within Residential Conveyancing (ideally)
  • Working knowledge of LEAP case management software is a bonus
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent typing and document production abilities.
  • Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
