The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our Corporate and Commercial team, based at our Norwich office. This role is an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly, growing and fast-paced law firm. This is a fixed term contract opportunity for a period of 12 months.

About the Team

Our Corporate & Commercial team advises businesses and entrepreneurs at every stage of their development, from start‑up and growth to investment, restructuring and exit. We provide clear, pragmatic advice on corporate transactions, company law and governance, alongside a broad range of commercial work including drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts to support day‑to‑day business operations. Working closely with our clients, we focus on understanding their objectives and delivering practical, commercially‑focused solutions.

The Role

This role will see the successful candidate undertaking the following tasks during their fixed term contract:

  • Requesting documents from clients as part of transactions and uploading these to the data room as instructed
  • Assisting with completions in preparing documents for execution, supporting the fee earner with document management at completion and witnessing documents if required
  • Assisting with the preparing, uploading and the management of documents for signing in DocuSign
  • Submitting documents and applications in respect of the payment of stamp duty to HMRC
  • File opening, electronic and paper (including conflict checking) and ensuring all data is accurately entered into the case management system
  • Answering telephone calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Producing correspondence via BigHand digital dictation system and/or copy typing
  • Amending documents/letters with tracked changes and typing up manuscript amended documents
  • Providing general administrative and clerical support as required
