Role Description

The Family Legal Secretary role at Collins & Hoy Solicitors is a full-time, on-site position based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The role involves providing administrative and secretarial support to the family department, including preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and case files. The Legal Secretary will handle telephone and email inquiries, liaise with clients and external parties, and assist with the coordination of case-related tasks to ensure deadlines are met. The role also includes general clerical duties, such as data entry, document management, and supporting the smooth operation of the office.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of family law and legal processes, with experience supporting solicitors or Legal Assistants.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal correspondence and forms.
  • Solid Clerical Skills, including data entry, document management, and office administration.
  • Effective Diary Management capabilities, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating appointments and court dates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional telephone manner and client-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Competence in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and legal case management systems.
  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a law firm is highly desirable.
  • Relevant legal or administrative qualification, or equivalent experience, would be beneficial.
