Legal Secretary, Law Firm, North London (Metropolitan Line), Permanent, Onsite working, £35,000-£37,000

Our client, a well established, well regarded and trusted family law firm is recruiting for a Legal Secretary at their North West London office. Supporting 3 Lawyers, this role offers responsible secretarial support within a lovely team.

Our client is immensely proud of their reputation as a supportive, people-focused law firm. You will work from their attractive and welcoming offices in a quiet and peaceful area.

Responsibilities:

  • Working under the direction of the Partners and Heads of department you will provide support to the Family Department
  • Audio (Speechwrite), copy typing and proof reading
  • File opening – including data input, completion of internal forms and procedures, preparation of anti-money laundering documentation
  • Preparing initial letters for the solicitor to review
  • Electronic filing of incoming correspondence, outgoing copies, invoices and reports
  • File Administration via the Case Management system
  • Emailing, printing, scanning and copying documents
  • Liaising with clients, courts and other professionals
  • Taking telephone messages from clients
  • Making appointments and managing diaries in person and via Zoom
  • Preparing monthly billing
  • Assisting with the completion of Legal Forms
  • Assisting in Court Bundle preparation

Skills and Experience needed:

  • Previous experience working as a Family Legal Secretary is essential
  • Familiarity with layout of relevant legal documents
  • Effective work management and organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills, Word and Excel
  • Initiative, a flexible approach and a confident communicator
  • The ability to apply common sense in handling competing priorities and the ability to work as part of a team
