Opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant / Conveyancing Paralegal / Conveyancing Secretary

An opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Assistant / Conveyancing Paralegal / Conveyancing Secretary to join a professional services firm providing legal and accountancy services, delivering practical and client-focused advice across various specialist areas.

Role Overview

As a Conveyancing Assistant / Conveyancing Paralegal / Conveyancing Secretary, you will be supporting a busy property department with residential conveyancing matters while assisting with selected commercial property transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Managing residential conveyancing matters from instruction to completion, including sales, purchases, remortgages, probate sales, transfers, and redemptions.
  • Opening files and completing client onboarding, ID checks, and AML compliance.
  • Preparing client care documents, contract packs, and legal correspondence.
  • Ordering searches, reviewing results, and managing documentation.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and third parties.
  • Preparing SDLT submissions and supporting post-completion Land Registry work.

Requirements

  • Previously worked as a Conveyancing Assistant, Conveyancing Paralegal, Conveyancing Secretary, Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Legal Secretary, Legal Property Assistant, Property Secretary, Property Paralegal, or in a similar role.
  • Prior experience within residential conveyancing.
  • Good knowledge of the residential conveyancing process from instruction through to completion.
  • Experience dealing with Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Confident working in a busy legal environment with excellent attention to detail.
