Salary: Up to circa £26,000 (DOE)
Location: Cardiff outskirts | Full-Time | Established Law Firm

The opportunity

TSR Legal are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm who are looking to appoint a skilled Legal Secretary to join their Residential Conveyancing team, based in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal secretary or senior legal administrator who enjoys working closely with fee earners and clients and is looking to join a supportive and established team.

The Role

Working alongside experienced fee earners within the Residential Conveyancing department, you will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support, helping to ensure matters progress efficiently and clients receive an excellent level of service.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to fee earners.
  • Managing diaries, appointments and general correspondence.
  • Audio typing and preparing letters and other documentation.
  • Dealing with routine post and drafting straightforward correspondence.
  • Opening, maintaining, filing and closing client files.
  • Preparing documents, scanning and ensuring information is correctly recorded on the relevant file.
  • Assisting with the progression of conveyancing matters and general file administration.
  • Supporting with Land Registry applications, requisitions and SDLT forms where appropriate.
  • Dealing with client queries by telephone, email and in person.
  • Taking client instructions and ensuring queries are passed to the relevant fee earner where necessary.
  • Assisting with the preparation and dispatch of correspondence and documentation.
  • Helping to ensure files are maintained in accordance with firm procedures and GDPR requirements.
  • Supporting other members of the secretarial team when required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Secretary or experienced Legal Administrator within a law firm.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Previous legal secretarial or legal administration experience.
  • Experience within Residential Conveyancing would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent typing and word-processing skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a professional, client-focused manner.
  • The confidence to deal with clients and fee earners at all levels.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using legal case management systems would be advantageous.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to use your own initiative.
