Legal Services Manager (Transactions)
We are seeking an exceptional Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer or Chartered Legal Executive with conveyancing practice rights to join our growing in-house legal team as a Legal Services Manager (Transactions). In this role you will work closely with the Head of Legal Services (Transactions) to shape the Disposals workstream and ensure consistently excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Inspire and manage a fantastic team of lawyers in the Legal Services team, demonstrating Southern Housing's HEART values and our commitment to residents.
Focus Area: Serve as the single point of excellence for the disposals work of the Legal Services team. The team’s work supports Southern Housing’s disposal programme at auction and open market sales, helping to generate funds from poor quality properties that can be reinvested to improve current stock and services for the benefit of Southern Housing’s residents.

Case Management: Manage a personal caseload of property and conveyancing matters, across the full range of transactional work carried out by the Legal Services team.
Training & Development: Provide training for the Legal Services team and Southern Housing colleagues, developing tools and precedents, and ensuring consistency and efficiency in the disposals workstream.
This role is based at our main offices in Farringdon (London), with hybrid working options when appropriate and as agreed with your manager. Travel between offices and occasional visits to other Southern Housing office locations may be required.
What We’re Looking For
- Fully Competent Qualified solicitor, CILEX lawyer, or chartered legal executive with conveyancing practice rights
- Passion for excellent service and efficiency in conveyancing
- Proven track record in conveyancing and other, ideally in the Social Housing sector
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook

Highly Desirable (but not essential if candidate is willing to develop):
- Experience in managing other lawyers
- Experience in drafting templates and providing training
- Experience in managing client relationships
