About The Role
Join our People Team as a Legal Services Support Officer
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Services Support Officer for our People team to provide comprehensive administrative and business support in relation to Childcare, Adult Social Care and Education matters. This is a key role within Legal Services, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of legal support.
Working closely with solicitors, legal assistants and clients, you will be responsible for managing legal administration processes, preparing and maintaining case files, coordinating court and tribunal documentation, processing legal correspondence and supporting the effective management of cases from instruction through to conclusion.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will regularly handle sensitive and confidential information relating to children, families and vulnerable adults and must demonstrate professionalism, discretion and a strong commitment to data protection and confidentiality.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience, ideally within a legal, local government or public sector environment, who wishes to develop their understanding of Childcare, Adult Social Care and Education law while making a positive contribution to the delivery of essential public services.
What will you be doing?
As a Legal Services Support Officer, you will:
- Assist with the preparation of legal documents, court bundles and reports
- Maintain case management systems
- Arrange meetings and hearings
- Monitor deadlines
- Act as a point of contact for internal clients, courts, barristers, schools and external agencies
- Contribute to ensuring statutory timescales are met and that legal services are delivered efficiently and effectively

You will work with the Legal Business Manager and Practice Support Officer to ensure that all business support functions are delivered in a timely and efficient manner. This will include processing financial information, producing reports and assisting with the onboarding of new staff members.
About You
You will be educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent including GCSEs in Maths, English at Grade 4 (or equivalent).
