Role Description

The Legal Specialist will provide expert legal support across the firm’s core practice areas, including property, private client, and commercial matters, ensuring clear and accurate advice to clients and internal stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents; conducting legal research; identifying and analyzing legal issues; and preparing concise written opinions and reports. The role involves direct communication with clients, liaising with other professionals, and supporting solicitors with case preparation, file management, and compliance with regulatory standards. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Dewsbury, with the expectation of regular office attendance combined with some work from home. The Legal Specialist will contribute to maintaining high service standards and efficient workflows across the practice.

  • Strong foundation in Law with the ability to interpret legislation, case law, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in Legal Consulting, including advising on options, risks, and commercially practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting contracts, correspondence, reports, and formal legal documents.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and manage Legal Issues across property, private client, and commercial matters.
  • Relevant legal qualification (e.g., law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent) and prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
  • Comfort with using legal research tools and case management systems; proficiency with standard office software.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, client care, and working in line with SRA and firm policies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also handling tasks independently.
