Legal Services is looking to offer a permanent position to a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work as a Legal Support Assistant within the Children, Families and Young Persons Team in Plymouth Council’s Legal Department. This role provides vital and wide-ranging support services to the legal professionals in a team where quality, accuracy, and effectiveness is at its core.
The role requires you to undertake legal casework as directed by senior colleagues, in accordance with professional practice standards and procedures and Legal Services Quality Service Plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining court documents in a digital and paper format
- Composing simple letters
- Completion of various Court documents
- Communicating effectively with outside Solicitors, Barristers, and the Children’s Young People and Families Service
- Use of a case management system
- Assisting team members with other Court processes

Working Arrangement
- The successful candidate will be required to work in the office (Ballard House) for at least 3 days per week, with the other working days being based at home.
- The interview will take place in person at Ballard House.
