Join our Legal Services Team
At Vico Homes, our Legal Services Team plays a vital role in protecting the organisation, supporting operational services and helping us deliver excellent outcomes for our customers and communities. The team provides specialist legal advice and representation across a broad range of litigation and property matters, helping the organisation manage risk, enforce tenancy obligations and support service delivery.
We are seeking a proactive, organised and detail-focused Legal Support Officer to provide essential administrative support to the Legal Services Team. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the effective administration of the team’s litigation and property matters, including the opening and maintenance of legal files, accurate recording of case information, updating case management systems, preparation and formatting of correspondence and documents, monitoring of deadlines, coordination of information, support for reporting requirements and the smooth operation of day-to-day legal processes.
In addition to these core administrative responsibilities, the postholder will undertake some casework under full supervision, assisting with a range of matters including disrepair, possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour, injunctions, gas servicing, encroachments, debt recovery and property-related issues. The role will make an important contribution to maintaining efficient case progression and supporting the delivery of a responsive and effective in-house legal service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Alongside these core administrative duties, you will undertake some casework under full supervision, assisting with matters such as disrepair, possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour, injunctions, gas servicing, encroachments, debt recovery and property-related issues. You will support the preparation of legal documents, trial bundles, briefs to Counsel, reports, briefings and updates, and will liaise with internal teams, court staff, Counsel and external stakeholders as required. You will also support senior colleagues with collating case statistics and management information, arranging legal meetings or drop-in sessions, archiving, training administration and helping to improve legal administration processes, workflows and systems.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a proactive, organised and detail-focused person with strong administrative skills and a keen interest in supporting legal services. You will be able to manage information accurately, maintain well ordered records, prioritise work effectively and provide reliable administrative support in a busy team environment. You will have good written and verbal communication skills, confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases and electronic systems, and the ability to prepare, format and update documents, correspondence and records to a high standard.
You will bring strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail, together with the ability to monitor deadlines, follow processes, handle confidential information appropriately and communicate professionally with colleagues, customers, courts, Counsel and external stakeholders. Previous experience in an administrative or legal support role is desirable, particularly within a legal, housing, property or public sector environment. While some legal knowledge or experience of litigation and property matters would be beneficial, the role will include casework only under full supervision, so we are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate sound administration, good judgement, a willingness to learn and the ability to support the smooth running of legal casework. A law qualification at Level 6 of the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications, such as a degree, award, certificate or diploma at Level 6, or equivalent, is required for this role.
