Legal Support Team Lead

Permanent, Full Time
We’re working with an international professional services organisation is looking for a Legal Support Team Lead to join its Glasgow-based team, supporting stakeholders across the Middle East and Africa. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining day-to-day legal support with responsibility for coordinating and supporting a small team.
We’re open to someone who already has Team Lead or supervisory experience, but equally this could suit a Senior Legal Support professional ready to take their first formal step into leadership. You may already be the person colleagues turn to, have experience mentoring newer team members or regularly take responsibility for workload allocation and supporting others.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Coordinating the day to day workload and priorities across the team.
- Providing guidance, mentoring and support to team members.
- Acting as the key point of contact for day to day queries and issues.
- Supporting with people matters including absence and performance, escalating where required.
- Building positive relationships with lawyers, partners and wider stakeholders.
- Managing expectations and confidently pushing back when required.
- Continuing to provide hands on legal support, including document tasks, file opening and client meeting arrangements.
- Helping improve processes and ways of working across the team.

What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience within a legal support or professional services environment.
- Experience mentoring, supervising or supporting colleagues.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Someone approachable and supportive, but comfortable taking ownership and having difficult conversations when needed.
