Job Title: Legal & Technical Adviser (Employment Law)

Salary: circa £41,000 depending on experience

Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire with agile working

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Type: 1 Permanent, 1 Fixed term (24 months)

About the Role

The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is the biggest farming organisation in the UK. We're proud to make a difference for all our members, by shaping attitudes towards British farming and leading the charge on a range of major issues, from climate change and food standards to rural crime and broadband rollout.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Employment Law professional looking for a role where you can focus on delivering great advice without the pressures of billing targets or chargeable hours?

At the NFU, you'll join a friendly and supportive team providing expert employment law advice to farming and rural businesses across England and Wales. Employment law will be your core specialism, and you'll also develop knowledge in a range of wider legal and technical areas relevant to the agricultural sector.

Whether you're an Employment Solicitor, Employment Consultant or experienced Employment Adviser, this is an opportunity to use your expertise in a varied and rewarding role while enjoying excellent work-life balance.

What you’ll be doing

This is a varied and interesting role where you will be involved in issues that help farming and rural businesses navigate complex employment challenges and remain successful. Unlike many private practice roles, there are no chargeable hour targets or client billing responsibilities. This allows our advisers to focus on delivering high-quality practical advice whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This means offering calm and knowledgeable advice over the phone and making often complex legal, technical and policy-related advice easy to understand for our members. Whilst employment law is your core specialism, we’ll provide comprehensive training to help you develop expertise in the agricultural and rural business issues faced by our members.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
