Location: London, UK Dates: 09 – 13 Nov 2026 Schedule: 5 days | Daily schedule based on standard executive training Language: English Training Fee: 1,200 GBP (total for the full 5 days)

Cambridge for Global Training is seeking a highly experienced freelance trainer to deliver an executive-level course titled Legal Writing and Drafting Skills in London.

Course Overview

The Legal Writing and Drafting Skills training course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and techniques required for effective legal writing and drafting. Clear and concise communication is crucial in the legal profession, and this course provides the tools to draft precise legal documents and communicate complex legal concepts effectively. Whether participants are legal professionals, law students, or individuals looking to improve their legal writing abilities, this course helps enhance proficiency in legal communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Legal Writing and Drafting Skills course in line with the approved curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Coordinate all course-related activities with Cambridge for Global Training.
  • Receive and manage shipped training materials, documentation, or equipment.
  • Prepare, customise, and update training materials, presentations, case studies, and practical exercises.
  • Ensure high-quality course delivery in line with professional and executive training standards.
  • Facilitate interactive discussions, practical case studies, and real-world applications.
  • Maintain effective session flow, time management, and participant engagement throughout the programme.

Course Coverage Requirements

The trainer must be able to confidently deliver all course units, including:

Unit 1: Fundamentals of Legal Writing

  • Understanding the purpose and audience of legal writing
  • Principles of clarity, precision, and conciseness
  • Structure and organization of legal documents
  • Effective use of language and terminology
  • Avoiding ambiguity and legalese in writing

Unit 2: Drafting Legal Documents

  • Introduction to drafting legal documents
  • Drafting techniques for contracts, pleadings, and opinions
  • Incorporating necessary clauses and provisions
  • Tailoring documents to specific needs of clients or cases
  • Reviewing and revising drafts for clarity and accuracy

Unit 3: Contract Drafting

  • Key elements of a legally binding contract
  • Drafting contractual clauses for various purposes
  • Considerations for specific types of contracts (e.g., employment, leases, sales)
  • Negotiating and revising contracts
  • Best practices for drafting enforceable contracts

Unit 4: Legal Analysis and Writing

  • Analyzing legal issues and identifying relevant facts and law
  • Structuring legal analysis in written form
  • Constructing legal arguments and supporting them with evidence
  • Writing persuasive legal memoranda and briefs
  • Incorporating precedent and legal authority into written analysis

Unit 5: Editing and Proofreading

  • Techniques for editing and proofreading legal documents
  • Checking for consistency, accuracy, and completeness
  • Addressing grammar, punctuation, and style errors
  • Ensuring conformity with legal formatting and citation standards
  • Finalizing polished and professional legal documents

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum professional experience in legal practice, legal consulting, corporate law, or legal education.
  • Proven experience delivering legal writing training programmes or similar executive courses previously.
  • Strong knowledge of legal frameworks, contract drafting principles, and legal communication standards.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience delivering executive-level or corporate training programmes to legal professionals, advisors, and corporate teams.

Preferred Profile

  • Background in Law, Legal Practice, Corporate Counsel, or senior legal consulting firms.
  • Practical experience drafting complex contracts, legal memoranda, pleadings, or regulatory documents.
  • Availability to be physically present in London during the course dates (09 – 13 Nov 2026).
