Leisure Assistant
Location: Shrewsbury Sports Village, Shrewsbury SY1 4RQ
Salary: £8.00 - £12.71 per hour (dependent on age) plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Casual contract – working a mixture of shifts, earlies, lates and weekends to meet the business requirements.

As a Leisure Assistant, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone who visits the centre. From supporting activities and maintaining high standards of cleanliness to ensuring equipment is set up safely and correctly, your work has purpose and helps deliver a positive impact on communities. Every day brings an opportunity to support healthier lifestyles, build trust with customers, and contribute to a positive future for local people.

- Provide a friendly and professional experience for customers, delivering excellent customer care at all times.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of customers by following health and safety procedures and maintaining a vigilant approach across the centre.
- Support the supervision of activities and recreational sessions, helping to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
- Set up, check and safely handle equipment to ensure activities can be delivered effectively.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility.
- Work closely with colleagues and management to support operational goals and continuously improve the customer experience.
Does this sound like you?
- Experience working in a customer-facing or customer service environment.
- Able to communicate confidently with people of all ages and abilities.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on customers and communities.
- Able to remain calm, alert and focused in busy or challenging situations.
- Flexible, dependable and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a leisure environment is desirable, and a coaching qualification would be an advantage.
