The Role Outline: Your Week at a Glance

As our Leisure Operations Manager, you are the operational anchor of the Leisure Club. While the sales team focuses on bringing people in, your job is to ensure the product they bought is actually phenomenal. You will lead the Team Leaders, the Group Fitness crew, and the gym floor staff, taking total ownership of the daily standards, the cleanliness, and the member experience.

Why Village?

At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating lively spaces for our guests to work, eat, relax, and play. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers.

Previous leisure management experience is essential, but your attitude, resilience, and energy matter much more to us. If you are obsessed with high standards, naturally motivational, and love the reality of running a fast-paced health club, we will give you all the support, training, and opportunities you need. Because it really does take a Village.

How the Village Thrives

We live our culture through three simple commitments:

  • We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose.
  • We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other.
  • We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Remit: What You Will Actually Be Doing

We do not need a desk manager. We need a visible, proactive leader who knows exactly what is happening on the gym floor and in the pool area. We trust you to handle:

  • The Daily Operation: Protecting the brand. You will ensure the club is always prepared, spotlessly clean, and operating safely. You will treat health, safety, and hygiene like an absolute religion.
  • The People Leadership: Managing the talent. You will lead the Team Leaders and Group Fitness instructors, managing the rotas, running the inductions, and coaching your team to deliver brilliant service without losing their sense of fun.
  • The Member Experience: Being the face of the floor. You will step in to handle complaints politely and swiftly, turning frustrated members into loyal fans, and making sure everyone on your team knows exactly how to deliver a memorable experience.
  • The Commercial Reality: Owning the numbers. You will work closely with the Leisure Club Manager to control costs, drive profitability, and hit your revenue targets, treating the business exactly like it is your own.

How We Succeed Together

We do not micromanage our leaders. It takes a village, so we believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to drive your operational strategy, solve practical problems, and own your department. We Empower & Elevate our people. If you want Room to Grow, we provide excellent training and development to help you step up in your commercial career.
