The Role Outline: Your Week at a Glance
As our Leisure Sales Manager, you are the commercial engine of the Leisure Club. You will lead, coach, and drive our team of Membership Advisors to hit stretching revenue targets, turn prospects into members, and treat the business like it is your own. You are not just managing the desk; you are out on the floor, conducting brilliant sales tours, and building a culture of high performance.
Why Village?
At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating lively spaces for our guests to work, eat, relax, and play. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers.
Previous sales management experience is great, but your attitude, leadership style, and energy matter much more to us. If you are commercially savvy, naturally motivational, and love the thrill of hitting a team target, we will give you all the support, training, and opportunities you need. Because it really does take a Village.
How the Village Thrives
We live our culture through three simple commitments:
- We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose.
- We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other.
- We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Remit: What You Will Actually Be Doing
We can teach you our systems, but we cannot teach you how to motivate a sales team. We trust you to handle:
- The Sales Hustle: Driving the numbers. You will roll out quarterly sales and marketing plans, hunt down leads, and push your team to smash their individual and team membership targets.
- The People Leadership: Coaching the closers. You will recruit, induct, and train your Membership Advisors, running the daily rotas, managing performance reviews, and ensuring everyone hits their weekly non-negotiable sales tasks.
- The Commercial Reality: Managing the pipeline. You will oversee the prospect database, track promotional activities, and dive into the finer financial details like leavers, arrears, and direct debits to protect our revenue and margin.
- The Guest Experience: Leading by example. You will conduct confident, informed one-to-one sales tours, match the right package to the right person, and resolve any complaints on the spot to ensure our reputation remains top tier.
How We Succeed Together
We do not micromanage our leaders. It takes a village, so we believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to drive your sales strategy, solve practical problems, and own your department. We Empower & Elevate our people. If you want Room to Grow, we provide excellent training and development to help you step up in your commercial career.
