Shorey Bailey & Co is a small, family-run student and residential lettings agency based in Plymouth, Devon, supporting tenants and landlords with a focus on responsive customer service. The agency helps students and residents find properties that match their needs and budget, aiming to make the letting process straightforward and stress-free. Shorey Bailey & Co arranges and accompanies viewings, offering tailored property options and guidance throughout the decision-making process. As a licensed and accredited agent with professional indemnity insurance, client money protection, and membership in an independent redress scheme, Shorey Bailey & Co also supports landlords with property development and large renovation projects.

Role Description

The Lettings Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Plymouth, responsible for supporting the smooth running of daily lettings operations. This position involves managing tenant and landlord enquiries, coordinating property viewings, preparing tenancy documentation, and maintaining accurate records and files. The Lettings Administrator will assist with property marketing, update listings across relevant platforms, and ensure timely communication regarding applications, contracts, and renewals. The role includes handling maintenance reports, liaising with contractors and internal teams, and monitoring progress to ensure issues are resolved quickly. This role also supports general office administration, including data entry, filing, and compliance checks, while contributing to a high standard of customer care for students and residents. Specific training will be provided.

  • Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with tenants, landlords, and colleagues.
  • The ability to handle enquiries, resolve issues, and build positive relationships.
  • Knowledge of property management and lettings processes (tenancy agreements, renewals, and basic compliance) is helpful, but not essential.
  • Administrative assistance skills, such as data entry, record-keeping, document preparation, and use of office software.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable working on-site in a busy office environment and collaborating within a small team.
  • Basic IT proficiency, including email and spreadsheets.
  • Previous experience in lettings, estate agency, or a related property or customer-focused sector is advantageous.
