Role Description

The Lettings & Maintenance Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in York, responsible for supporting the smooth running of the lettings and property maintenance function. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Coordinating property viewings
  • Assisting with tenant applications and referencing
  • Preparing tenancy documentation in line with company policies and regulations
  • Logging and prioritizing maintenance requests
  • Liaising with landlords, tenants, and contractors
  • Overseeing planned and reactive repairs to ensure properties are well maintained
  • Monitoring property condition reports
  • Supporting routine inspections
  • Helping manage compliance with safety and maintenance standards

The consultant will maintain accurate records, monitor costs, and provide clear, professional communication that supports excellent client and tenant relationships.

Qualifications

  • Strong maintenance-focused skills, including Plant Maintenance and Maintenance Management, with the ability to coordinate and oversee property repair and upkeep activities.
  • Proficiency in Operations Management, with experience organizing workflows and prioritizing tasks to support an efficient lettings and maintenance function.
  • Consulting skills, with the ability to advise landlords and tenants on maintenance solutions, property standards, and cost-effective options.
  • Well-developed Analytical Skills, enabling the evaluation of maintenance issues, cost implications, and operational performance to support sound decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with landlords, tenants, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience using property management or CRM systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of residential lettings processes and basic property compliance requirements (e.g., safety checks, inspections); previous estate agency or property management experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in York, manage multiple priorities, and respond promptly to maintenance and lettings queries in a fast-paced environment.
