Role Description

This full-time Lettings Negotiator role is an on-site position based in Chichester. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Managing property viewings
  • Liaising with landlords and prospective tenants
  • Handling enquiries in person, by phone, and via email
  • Negotiating tenancy terms
  • Progressing applications
  • Supporting the referencing and move-in process to ensure a smooth experience for all parties

The Lettings Negotiator will maintain accurate records on internal systems, assist with property marketing, and collaborate closely with colleagues to meet individual and team targets. The position requires a professional approach to customer service, a proactive attitude, and the ability to represent CROSSMEADS Lettings positively within the local community.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with landlords and tenants.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple viewings, enquiries, and tenancy progressions simultaneously.
  • Sales and negotiation skills, with experience or potential in converting enquiries, agreeing tenancy terms, and meeting performance targets.
  • Administrative and IT skills, including accurate record-keeping, use of property management or CRM systems, and proficiency with email, calendars, and basic office software.
  • Knowledge or interest in the residential lettings sector, local property market awareness in or around Chichester, and willingness to learn relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work on-site, use initiative, and maintain high ethical and compliance standards.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or ability to travel locally for property viewings), preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience in lettings, estate agency, property management, or a similar customer-facing role is advantageous but not strictly required.
