Lettings Officer
Do you enjoy helping people and delivering excellent customer service at every stage of their journey? Are you highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working with a range of internal and external partners? Would you like to build a rewarding career in housing while helping solve the housing crisis?
As a Lettings Officer, you'll manage the re-letting of our homes, ensuring properties are ready to let quickly, void periods are minimised, and customers receive a positive, tenant-focused service throughout the process. You'll work closely with prospective tenants, local authorities, contractors, and colleagues across the business to ensure our homes are matched with the right customers and let efficiently.
You'll be responsible for carrying out property viewings and assessments, supporting customers with tenancy-related processes, identifying support needs early, and helping to create sustainable tenancies from day one. You'll also play a key role in supporting a rent-first approach, ensuring payments are set up correctly and helping customers manage their accounts effectively.
Location: Mobile - covering Brandon to Mildenhall, Red Lodge, Bury and Sudbury
Hours: Part Time - 33 hpw - Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent + Car
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the end-to-end process of re-letting homes.
- Conducting property viewings with prospective customers.
- Liaising with local authorities and other partners to advertise available properties.
- Carrying out customer assessments and determining tenancy suitability.
- Identifying support needs and signposting or arranging appropriate assistance.
- Supporting customers with tenancy sign-up and new tenant check-ins.
- Setting up direct debits and affordable payment plans to help prevent arrears.
- Assisting with safeguarding concerns during the early stages of a tenancy or during notice periods.
- Managing and promoting mutual exchange applications.
- Working collaboratively with contractors and internal teams to ensure homes are ready to let.
- Supporting the delivery of Housing Made Simple while maintaining compliance with legislation, regulations, and company policies.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

- A proactive approach with great attention to detail.
- Confidence working with a variety of customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Desirable
- Previous experience in housing, lettings, tenancy management, or a customer-focused environment.
- Working knowledge of lettings processes and tenancy-related activity.

What We Offer
- Competitive salary - £30148.85 per annum (£33,803.26 FTE)
