With more than 20 years of experience, Vent-Tech offers design, commissioning, testing, fault finding, servicing, and training for industrial ventilation and LEV systems.
The Role
As an LEV Testing & Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality LEV services at client sites across the UK. This includes testing, commissioning, servicing, fault finding, and installation of LEV systems.
You will work independently and as part of a wider engineering team, representing Vent-Tech professionally while ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Thorough Examination & Testing (TExT) of LEV systems in accordance with COSHH, HSG258, ILEVE and BOHS guidance
- Conduct commissioning, performance validation, and fault finding on LEV systems
- Service, maintain, and repair LEV systems including fans, filters, ducting, and control systems
- Support installation of new LEV systems where required
- Undertake site surveys to assess existing systems or new applications
- Produce clear, accurate technical reports and documentation following site visits
- Provide technical advice and compliance guidance to clients
- Liaise effectively with clients, colleagues, and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Work safely in accordance with company RAMS procedures and health & safety legislation
- Represent the company professionally, maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service

Working Arrangements
- Field-based role working primarily at client premises
- Travel across regions (South West, Midlands, North) depending on location
- Overnight stays may be required (allowances provided)
- Work scheduled in coordination with the company planning team, with input from engineers
Essential Requirements
- BOHS P601 – Thorough Examination & Testing of LEV Systems
- Proven experience working with LEV systems (testing, commissioning, servicing)
- Good working knowledge of COSHH, HSG258, and LEV best practice
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, industrial electrics, and ventilation systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential)
- Additional BOHS qualifications (P602, P603, P604, etc.)
- Experience with complex or bespoke LEV systems
- Background in occupational hygiene or building services
- Experience in site surveys and report writing

Training & Development
Vent-Tech is committed to developing technical excellence. Full training and support will be provided to achieve and maintain relevant qualifications, including:
- P601, P602, P603, P604
- DSEAR Hazardous Area Classification
- Engineering report writing
- In-situ HEPA filter testing
- IPAF (MEWP) and PASMA certifications
This development pathway supports progression toward:
- BOHS Certificate of Competence
- BESA CSCS LEV Skillcard
