Level 2 Adult Care Apprenticeship at Action for Care Ltd
We are seeking an Adult Care worker to provide high-quality care to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Behaviours that Challenge, and additional complex needs.
Apprenticeship Overview
- Salary: £8.00 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
- Working Week: Monday to Sunday between 8am – 10pm (20 minutes lunch break)
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Duration: 15 months
- Qualification: Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard qualification
- Training: Online training supported by our dedicated tutor
- Location: Milford Lodge, 10 Westfield Lane, South Milford, North Yorkshire, LS25 5AP
What you’ll do at work
The role requires an enthusiastic, motivated, passionate person who can work on their own initiative but also as part of a team. The role is highly rewarding and enjoyable with each day different to the last and involving lots of activities and fun!
Main Duties
To provide a professional and residential care service to all the people we support and to promote the development of the individual's full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure that high standards of professional care and practices for the People We Support are established and maintained, including appropriate attention to their physical, cultural, social, educational, recreational, and emotional needs.
- To participate in the decision-making process concerning future plans for each Person We Support within their home environment.
- To prepare reports and to participate in review for each Person We Support.
- To ensure that the Person We Support's medication is administered as prescribed by the GP.
- To undertake 'Keyworker' responsibilities.
- To promote and contribute towards effective communication within the residential staff team and between the People We Support and staff, to ensure that continuity of care is maintained.
- To contribute towards the maintenance of sound administrative practices within the home; to maintain a detailed case recording system for each Person We Support.
- To participate in and contribute to staff training and development programmes as and when required.
- To assist as necessary in the overall running of the home and to provide assistance where necessary.
- To assist in fostering, developing, and maintaining contacts within the local community.
- To carry out any other duties as required.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications NVQ, Diploma, etc.
- Knowledge of Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.
- Experience of working with people who have Behaviours that Challenge.
- Knowledge of residential care.
- Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
- Full current driving licence.

The opportunity to progress within the care sector and develop additional skills and qualifications following successful completion of the apprenticeship.
