Job Description
Care Support Apprenticeship at Caremark Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire
We are seeking a caring care worker visiting clients in their own home, to provide personal care, companionship, light domestic work, shopping, transfers, medication administration.
Apprenticeship Overview:
- Salary: £8.00 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
- Working Week: Monday to Sunday between 7am – 10pm (shifts to be confirmed)
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Duration: 13 months
- Qualification: Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard
- Training: Online training supported by our dedicated tutor
- Location: Unit 7, Grange Park, Broadway, Bourn, Cambridgeshire, CB23 2TA
Care Support Apprentice – Key Responsibilities
As a Care Support Apprentice, you will learn how to provide high-quality care and support to people in their own homes while developing valuable skills and experience.
You will:
- Assist clients who need help getting up and going to bed in the morning and evenings, including dressing and undressing, washing, bathing, and going to the toilet.
- Help clients with their mobility and with any physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of personal aids and equipment.
- Care for clients who are temporarily sick and need bed nursing and help with feeding, etc.
- Provide care and support for clients who are terminally ill.
- Help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of clients through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations.
- Make and change beds, light cleaning, emptying commodes, and general tidying.
- Inspect, launder, and mend clients’ clothes.
- Set tables and trays, prepare and serve light meals, clearing away, and washing up.
- Read and write reports and be involved in clients’ reviews and training activities.
- Adhere to all Caremark’s policies and procedures at all times.
- Report either to the Field Care Supervisor or Care Manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a client.
- Encourage the independence of clients wherever possible.

Essential
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car

- GCSE English (Grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent) Desirable
