We are looking for two qualified Level 2 Basketball Referees to officiate our upcoming Takeover 3x3 Basketball Tournament in Milton Keynes on Saturday 22nd August 2026, 12pm–6pm.

The referee will oversee competitive 3x3 basketball games, ensuring matches are conducted safely, fairly, and in accordance with official basketball rules and standards. The role involves managing game flow, making clear and impartial decisions, communicating effectively with players and event staff, and maintaining a professional standard of officiating throughout the event.

The referee will be responsible for controlling games, managing disputes calmly, applying rules consistently, and supporting a positive experience for players and spectators. The role may also involve pre-event coordination with the organising team, understanding the tournament format, and providing feedback after the event.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Basketball Referee qualification (or equivalent recognised accreditation)
  • Demonstrated experience officiating competitive basketball games
  • Strong understanding of basketball rules, 3x3 format, positioning, and game management
  • Ability to make quick, accurate decisions under pressure
  • Strong communication skills with players, coaches, and event staff
  • Professional, reliable, and impartial approach to officiating
  • Experience officiating youth, community, or tournament basketball is beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an event team
