At Implants International
At Implants International, you'll learn how to finish and prepare highly precise medical implants to an exceptionally high standard. This is hands-on engineering where accuracy, patience and attention to detail really matter.
What will you actually be doing?
As a Fitter/Polisher Apprentice, you'll learn how to work with small, highly precise components and turn them into finished products ready for the next stage of production.
Your training will include:
Polishing:
- Learn how to use vacuum blast machines safely and effectively
- Understand how different air pressures affect different products
- Learn about different types of blasting media and how they create different surface finishes
- Develop the patience and precision needed to achieve a consistently high-quality finish

- Learn to safely use pneumatic hand tools and grinders
- Understand different abrasives, wheels, belts and consumables and when to use them
- Learn how to use precision measuring equipment, including digital verniers
- Use shadowgraphs to inspect and check components
- Develop the ability to spot even the smallest imperfections
What we're looking for:
You don't need years of engineering experience. We'll teach you the technical skills. What matters is how you approach your work.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have a really good eye for detail
- Have good hand-eye coordination and enjoy practical, hands-on work
- Have good eyesight and can concentrate on small components
- Take pride in getting things right, rather than just getting them done
- Enjoy learning how things work and developing practical skills
- Are happy working with tools and equipment
- Are willing to listen, learn and take feedback
- Care about producing work to a very high standard
