Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Opportunity
We are looking for Enfield Borough residents interested in completing a Level 3 Civil Engineering apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 36 months working as a Civil Engineering Apprentice as part of the Flexi-Job Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while completing the apprenticeship.

Monday-Friday. Minimum of 35 hours per week but the potential for more. Approx. 8 am-5 pm but hours will be confirmed by the contractor after successfully passing the Stage 1 & 2 Interview.

What You'll Do at Work
Civil Engineering involves not only the setting out of a project and the foundation, but also the RC framework and concrete formworks. This role is based on site and in the office, using setting out equipment and design software, while also learning to manage the package on site including costings and staff. Further tasks may include:
- Assisting with site investigations, the worth and potential risks of projects
- Developing blueprints using computer-aided design (CAD); Using computer modelling software to analyse surveys and mapping data
- Liaising with architects, subcontractors, consultants, co-workers and clients
- Ensuring projects meet legal requirements, monitoring progress, and health and safety standards are being met
- Resolving design and development problems, including environmental impact and potential risk
- Managing budgets and other project resources; preparing project bids and reports
- Reviewing and managing costs such as labour timesheets, plant claims and costings, material claim and costings, and supporting full package cost audits.

What You'll Learn
Course contents include applying appropriate civil engineering principles, techniques, and methods, including mathematical, scientific, and technical know-how, to civil engineering and the construction process; applying key principles, techniques and methods of data and technical information collection, analysis, and evaluation to support the delivery of civil engineering models, designs, and technical solutions; operating appropriate software packages for data gathering and analysis, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) or Building Information Modelling (BIM), to create technical drawings, models and designs using relevant conventions and engineering terminology; applying statutory health, safety and welfare policies, procedures, and regulations in the civil engineering environment, using risk management processes, procedures, and documentation; supporting and contributing to the production or modification of civil engineering technical solutions in accordance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and procedures and codes of practice; applying environmental policies and sustainable principles in civil engineering projects, recognising the need to reduce carbon use, lower emissions and plan for wider sustainability; planning, carrying out and managing own work in line with quality assurance, recognising the wider implications to customer needs, and within cost and resource limitations; considering equality, diversity and inclusion in the delivery of civil engineering projects; applying document control processes and procedures using the approved processes, maintaining quality compliance when creating or amending engineering documentation; communicating using appropriate methods for the audience, and incorporate relevant and appropriate terms, standards, and data; applying ethical principles to civil engineering projects, including the secure use of data and information; planning, undertaking and reviewing their own professional competence, regularly updating and reviewing their CPD to improve performance.

Training Schedule
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
Essential Qualifications
- GCSE in Maths & English (grade C/4)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

After This Apprenticeship
Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Asst. Civil/Setting Out Engineer. With more experience, you can look to progress into a senior position, management, self-employment, or business owner. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be eligible for a CSCS Supervisor (Gold) Card.
