Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ambitious and want to gain playworker qualification while getting experience. You'll create meaningful relationships with the children, your team and with parents.
Wage
£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

£9/hour for level 2 or 3 apprentices which is above minimum apprentice wage of £8 per hour. Please note, this is the wage for all ages. National Minimum Wage will apply after 12 months on the apprenticeship.

Term Time only. Full time and part time hours available. Working hours are Monday - Friday, between 7.30am and 6:30pm. 40 hours a week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Supporting children: Providing care, play, and learning activities for children of different ages and developmental stages
- Creating a safe environment: Ensuring the crèche environment is inclusive and appropriate for children's needs and cultural backgrounds
- Communicating with parents: Sharing information about children's needs and progress with parents and carers
- Observing and assessing children: Monitoring children and discussing concerns with a line manager
- Maintaining records: Keeping records of attendance, contact details, and other relevant information
- Attending courses: Participating in courses and meetings to develop skills and knowledge
- Completing tasks: Completing tests, assignments, and other tasks as part of the apprenticeship
- Working with others: Collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to meet children's needs
- Following policies: Adhering to policies and procedures relevant to the work of the setting

- Safeguarding Statement: This authority/organisation is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, requiring all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment. As part of the safer recruitment, you will require an enhanced DBS. This will be applied for by the employer if successful. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
- Right to Work & Residency Requirements: Applicants who are not UK nationals must meet apprenticeship funding eligibility rules, including having lived in the UK or EU for at least 3 consecutive years prior to the start date. You must hold a valid visa that does not expire within 18 months of your apprenticeship start date. We will require a share code to verify your right to work and study in the UK. After submitting your application, you will receive a screening form where you can securely provide your share code for eligibility checks.

About this employer
We bring decades of experience25 years in early years, multiple languages, one shared purpose. Some of our team have spent 25 years or more working in early years, and several hold Level 7 qualifications. Our director brings the added perspective of a career in nursing and midwifery. We are a genuinely multicultural team, and most of us speak three or four languages, which matters in a setting where most of our children are growing up bilingual or multilingual. The Early Years Educator Level 3 is an advanced apprenticeship equivalent to an NVQ 3. You could progress to the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship and do further training to reach Early Years Teacher Status.
