I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Sharon holds a BA Honours degree in Childhood Studies and Early Years Teachers Status and has the support of her team of highly trained professionals who hold early years qualifications starting at Level 2 through to Level 5 and BA Honours degrees. As well, through the Apprenticeship training programme, we train unqualified staff of all ages. Each room has an appointed room leader who is experienced within the age group they work closest to. The nursery is run by the Nursery Manager with the support of the Deputy Manager. They support the whole team and work simultaneously to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to all our children and families. Our enthusiastic and dedicated team of practitioners work together across all aspects of the nursery, supporting and mentoring each other. They have been chosen for their ability to provide the highest standards of care to each baby and child in their supervision, and their commitment to delivering an excellent service to the families who come to us. More so, they are committed to providing a warm and inclusive environment where children can develop their individuality and potential. Together, we have many years of experience in nurturing young minds and delivering creative and stimulating learning experiences.
