Pay: £105-£115 per day (depending on experience)

Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant - Prestwich
A specialist SEN school in Prestwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their experienced team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school provides a nurturing, inclusive and well-resourced learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering personalised support to help pupils achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs throughout the school day.
- Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning programmes.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence using appropriate strategies.
- Support pupils with communication, personal care and sensory needs where required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other support staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate observations and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

The Successful Applicant Will
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
- Be patient, compassionate, resilient and adaptable.
- Be confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be committed to promoting inclusion and supporting every pupil to reach their full potential.
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full time.

Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH or complex learning needs.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC or other communication strategies.
- Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent behaviour management training.
- Experience working within a specialist SEN setting.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS covering both the Child and Adult Workforce, satisfactory references, and full compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025 guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
