A welcoming and supportive primary school in Whitefield is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a full-time, long-term basis until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing throughout the school day. You will play an important role in creating an engaging, inclusive and positive classroom environment, providing targeted support to pupils and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the classroom
  • Supporting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence
  • Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other members of the school team

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about education and looking for a rewarding, long-term role within a supportive primary school.

The Successful Applicant Will

  • Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
  • Have experience working with children within a primary school or similar educational setting
  • Be enthusiastic, patient and nurturing
  • Have a positive and proactive approach to supporting pupils
  • Be confident providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Be adaptable and able to respond to a range of pupil needs
  • Have full-time availability from September
  • Hold a valid Child Workforce DBS or be willing to obtain one
  • Have the right to work in the UK
