Summary
For this apprenticeship you will be based at the college on the Isle of Wight. You will be supporting the on site Management team in all aspects creating a new college facility. Working on an exciting new build project at the IoW College. Role open to Southampton area as well as IoW residents and all ferry costs will be paid for.
Wage
£16,224 to £25,775.88, depending on your age

Help with the cost of Travel to and from work and College will be supported financially which can be claimed back weekly via our expenses process.

Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 5.00pm working week, with one day being spent at college to gain the qualifications for this apprenticeship.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Help to ensure that projects are planned and completed in a timely, safely manner
- Study daily diary to record site events and requirements
- Learn standards for inspections of all operations to ensure they are carried out in a safe manner
- Comply with the site-specific environmental action plan requirements
- Understanding of site boundaries, access points and site office procedures
- Build relationships with other business unit teams like sales and commercial
- Liaise with site management team to prepare for inspection visits
- Manage and co-ordinate the safe and tidy storage of material delivered to the site
- Shadow and report to the business unit production director on specific development targets and objectives

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
- Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
- Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
- Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
- Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

This apprenticeship is a standard qualification titled "Construction Site Supervisor" at Level 4 which is equivalent to an HNC

Working with the on-site management team you will be taught how to manage sub-contractor packages. Check work carried out meets the quality expected
Will learn how to work with commercial team and sub-contractors to ensure budgets are controlled and checked

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
Maths, English and three other subjects (grade 4 or C)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Be aware that you will be working nearby a working college and a DBS check may need to be undertaken.
