Become a Qualified Marketing Manager

Become a qualified Marketing Manager while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a real workplace. You’ll develop skills in digital marketing, campaign management, strategy, analytics and leadership, while earning a salary and working towards a Level 6 qualification equivalent to a degree.

Wage:

  • £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
  • National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices
  • Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)

Training Course:

  • Marketing manager (level 6)

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. 37 hours 30 minutes a week

  • Monday 7 September 2026

What You'll Do at Work

The apprentice will support the planning, development and delivery of marketing activity across the business, gaining hands-on experience.

  • Day-to-day responsibilities may include supporting marketing campaigns, creating and scheduling social media posts, developing content, monitoring campaign performance and helping to maintain the company’s brand and online presence.
  • They will also support the organisation and delivery of business exhibitions, events and roadshows, helping with event planning, promotional materials, communications, logistics and engaging with customers and prospects.
  • The apprentice will work with different teams across the business, supporting market research, customer engagement, lead generation and business development activities, while developing an understanding of how marketing contributes to overall business growth.
  • Alongside their core marketing responsibilities, they will also provide support with general business administration, including maintaining records, updating databases, preparing documents, organising meetings and assisting with day-to-day office activities.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop practical experience across digital marketing, content creation, events, social media, business development and wider commercial activity while working towards the Level 6 Marketing Manager apprenticeship.

What You'll Learn

Course Contents

  • Lead and implement a clear marketing plan and strategy, linked to business requirements to sustain a marketing advantage
  • Develop effective marketing campaigns and channels, assessing their features and benefits to best meet business requirements and customer needs
  • Develop detailed integrated marketing plans for all products/ services using offline and digital media tools - works with marketing team/ specialist agencies to do this
  • Influence, negotiate and persuade at senior level collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally to gain support/backing for marketing delivery
  • Act as a consultant, providing professional marketing advice to stakeholders around the business or to external clients as relevant
  • Present complex information in an understandable and stimulating way whether through effective verbal presentation or creative written copy
  • Oversee, manage and approve key marketing activities/projects
  • Deliver measurable marketing outcomes against key performance indicators and identify and drive continuous improvement, challenging existing processes and procedures where needed
  • Effectively plan and manage the marketing budget, to deliver on strategic objectives, and evaluate and justify return on marketing investment
  • Effectively engage, negotiate and manage third party suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Effectively evaluate marketing activities using measurement data and analytics to identify relevant key performance indicators (KPI) and return on marketing investment (ROI) in order to meet business objectives
  • Assimilate and analyse complex data and information from a range of sources to evolve, lead and plan marketing activities
  • Seek out opportunities to increase income generation and gain new business e.g. new products, markets and services as relevant
  • Construct a robust business case in support of marketing activities/plans
  • Effectively manage and develop stakeholder relationships at senior level
  • Assess business risks and reputational impacts of marketing activities
  • Inspire and motivate internally and externally to deliver marketing plans effectively, acting as a role-model for marketing best practice and taking responsibility for improving their own and the teams and/or stakeholder performance, as relevant
  • Effectively use appropriate business systems and software to deliver marketing outcomes efficiently, for example to analyse data, inform search engine marketing, produce reports and deliver copy
  • Actively interrogate systems and information sources to make judgements on when to introduce new ways of working/identify new systems/processes to improve marketing activities or address those new requirements and/or marketing trends

Training Schedule

Training will be delivered at the apprentice’s workplace, allowing them to develop their knowledge and skills alongside their day-to-day role.

  • The apprentice will complete their training full-time during their normal working hours, with dedicated time throughout the working week to complete their apprenticeship learning, supported by on-the-job training and practical experience.
  • Training will be integrated into the apprentice’s role, allowing them to apply what they learn directly to their marketing activities and responsibilities.
