Level Designer – Larian Studios

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2, is looking for a Level Designer to join their team and help craft the next generation of high-calibre, narrative-driven games.

About the Role

The Level Designer will play a crucial role in shaping immersive, engaging gameplay spaces that align with the studio’s vision and expectations. This position requires a deep understanding of player interaction, narrative structure, and game mechanics, with the freedom to experiment and iterate.

Responsibilities

  • Build white box versions of areas after consulting with relevant stakeholders (designers, creative directors, etc.)
  • Hand off areas to environment art, scripting, combat, and cinematics teams, ensuring they refine the experience
  • Finalise areas for shipping, ensuring polish and readiness
  • Understand how each area contributes to the overall game narrative and composition
  • Know and apply all exploration features and mechanics available to the player
  • Reserve space for dev-in-progress features that aren’t yet implemented
  • Be prepared to discard work and start over with new insights from previous iterations
  • Investigate and fix level design bugs, both in your own and others’ areas
  • Maintain a playable, functional level at all stages

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
