Leveraged Finance Associate | Elite US Law Firm | London
An elite US law firm is seeking a talented Leveraged Finance Associate to join its highly regarded London finance practice.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a genuinely international team operating at the top end of the market. The practice advises on some of the most sophisticated and complex financing transactions, combining US and international expertise with a deeply integrated, cross-border approach.
The Role
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of high-value and complex debt finance matters, with particular exposure to:
- Leveraged acquisition financings and recapitalisations
- Sponsor-backed and corporate acquisition finance
- Syndicated lending transactions
- Multicurrency and cross-border financings
- Senior secured and subordinated debt
- Term loan and revolving credit facilities
- Bridge financings and refinancings
- High-yield and other debt capital solutions
- Asset-based and alternative financing structures
- Liability management and debt restructurings
The team acts on major domestic and international transactions for an impressive client base, including leading private equity sponsors, multinational corporates, financial institutions, borrowers, arrangers and other market participants. Lawyers benefit from exposure to genuinely complex mandates, often involving multiple jurisdictions and requiring close collaboration with colleagues across international offices and complementary practice areas.

Associates are given the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility and play an active role in transactions. You can expect to be closely involved in drafting and negotiating key finance documentation, managing workstreams, coordinating with international counsel and counterparties, and developing direct exposure to sophisticated clients and senior stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
The firm is looking for an ambitious and technically strong associate with:
- Strong experience in leveraged finance, acquisition finance, banking and finance or broader debt finance
- A strong track record of working on complex and sophisticated financing transactions
- Well-developed drafting and negotiation skills
- Experience of taking ownership of meaningful elements of transactions and managing workstreams
- A strong academic record
- Excellent analytical, commercial and interpersonal skills
- The ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced and intellectually rigorous environment
- An enthusiasm for working on complex, cross-border matters within a dynamic international practice
