LEVERAGED FINANCE / HIGH YIELD ASSOCIATE
London | 2–4 PQE | Permanent
Top-of-market US remuneration | Visa sponsorship available
THE OPPORTUNITY
Diavin International Recruitment is working with an elite US law firm seeking a leveraged finance and/or high-yield lawyer to join its growing London finance practice.
The team is being developed as a genuinely integrated leveraged finance and high-yield practice, combining English-law leveraged lending with New York-law capital markets capability.
This represents a rare opportunity for an associate to build a balanced practice across both loans and bonds, rather than becoming confined to one product area. Candidates whose current experience is weighted towards either leveraged finance or high yield will have the opportunity to develop meaningful capability across both.
THE PRACTICE
The team advises leading investment banks, commercial banks, private lenders, sponsors and corporates on complex European, US and cross-border transactions, including:
- Syndicated TLBs and acquisition financings
- Secured and unsecured high-yield offerings
- Bridge facilities and loan commitments
- Private credit and direct-lending transactions
- Refinancings and recapitalisations
- Liability-management and restructuring transactions

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
