NQ Associate – Debt Finance

London | Leading US Law Firm

A leading US-headquartered law firm is looking to hire a Newly Qualified Associate into its highly regarded London Debt Finance practice.

The firm has a market-leading international platform and is known for advising major financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and corporates on some of the most sophisticated and high-value transactions in the market.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a well-established Debt Finance team advising lenders, sponsors, and borrowers across a broad range of financing matters, including:

  • Leveraged and acquisition finance
  • Syndicated and multicurrency lending
  • Investment-grade finance
  • Refinancings and recapitalisations
  • Asset-based lending
  • Complex cross-border financings
  • High-yield and other debt transactions

The team regularly works on high-profile, multi-jurisdictional transactions, providing excellent exposure to both UK and international clients.

As an NQ, you will work closely with partners and senior associates and will have the opportunity to take meaningful responsibility from an early stage. The role will involve drafting and negotiating finance documentation, supporting transactions through to completion, and working with colleagues across the firm's international offices.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A UK-qualified NQ solicitor with strong banking/finance experience
  • Ideally trained at a leading City or international firm
  • Experienced in a Debt Finance, Leveraged Finance, or Banking seat
  • Academically strong with excellent technical and drafting skills
  • Commercially minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced transactional environment
  • Interested in developing a long-term career within a leading international finance practice
