UCLH LGI Surgical Fellow
The UCLH LGI Surgical Fellow role is a 6-month (possible extension), post ST5+ position designed to provide comprehensive, advanced training in the surgical and multidisciplinary management of complex GI and colorectal pathology. The position offers immersive experience in a high-volume, tertiary referral centre with a strong academic, research, and clinical governance ethos.
Purpose
- To make an effective contribution to reaching the Trust’s vision, strategic objectives and key work programmes.
- To enhance and develop the General Surgery Service.
- To promote the highest clinical standards.
- To work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to provide effective delivery and management of the service.
- To participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of the surgical trainees.
- To actively participate in departmental and trust matters concerning clinical governance.
- To participate in regular audit of clinical activity and effectiveness that aid improvement and development of the General Surgery service.
- To ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME) for self and others.
