Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Councils are seeking expressions of interest for secondment opportunities to support the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Programme. These roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute to a major transformation across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, shaping the future of local services. Successful candidates will be employed by Nottinghamshire County Council as the host employer, for the duration of the secondment while working within a collaborative programme environment across partner organisations.
We are seeking a dedicated LGR Specialist Manager to join our Legal and Governance Programme. This role is pivotal in developing insightful reports and analyses that will shape the future of local governance across Nottinghamshire. You will provide specialist support as we navigate exciting changes in our council structure, ensuring that our legal and governance frameworks are robust and effective.

Role Responsibilities
As the LGR Specialist Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Research and Reporting: Conduct in-depth research and produce comprehensive reports that inform decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather insights and foster effective communication.
- Project Management: Oversee specific projects within the Legal and Governance Programme, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Legal Support: Provide expert legal guidance and support to the LGR Implementation Portfolio, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing processes and outcomes within the programme.
Required Skills And Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A law degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of legal frameworks and governance practices, particularly in local authorities.
- Proven experience in legal research, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in using IT tools and software for data management and reporting.
