LGR Specialist Manager (Procurement & Commercial)

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Councils are seeking applications for an exciting role to support the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Programme. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a major transformation across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, shaping the future of local services. Successful candidates will be employed by Nottinghamshire County Council as the host employer, for the duration of the fixed term contract while working within a collaborative programme environment across partner organisations.

We are looking for an LGR Specialist Manager to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing detailed reports and analyses to support our Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programme. You will play a vital role in providing expert Procurement and Commercial support, ensuring our projects are successful and impactful.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough research and analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback.
  • Developing reports that highlight key findings and recommendations.
  • Supporting various projects across Nottinghamshire County Council.
  • Collaborating with the LGR Portfolio Management Office and Programme Leads.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • ACIPS membership or relevant professional qualification.
  • A recognised graduate degree or NVQ equivalent, with at least 2 years of post-qualification commercial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EU procurement directives and public sector procurement best practices.
  • Experience in managing complex procurement projects.

Required Soft Skills Or Competencies/Behaviours

  • Negotiation skills that foster collaboration and consensus.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret financial and performance data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
