About Yusen Logistics
Yusen Logistics is working to become the world’s preferred supply chain logistics company. Our complete offer is designed to forge better connections between businesses, customers and communities – through innovative supply chain management, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution services. As a company we’re dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring everyone who works with us is committed, connected and creative in making us the world’s preferred choice.
Role Overview
We’re recruiting LGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at our Derby operation (DE1 9TA). This permanent role offers a £41,597.51 annual salary, working Monday to Friday with varied start times to suit the needs of the operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver to step into a stable, well structured role with no general haulage. You’ll be running established routes, collecting parts on behalf of our blue chip, world renowned client, and playing a key part in keeping their operation moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
As an LGV Class 1 Driver, you will safely and efficiently collect products on behalf of our dedicated customer. Collections take place from a range of suppliers across the UK, with goods secured in stillages and pallets. While the work is predominantly clean and straightforward, there may be a small amount of manual handling involved — such as opening and closing curtains and strapping pallets ready for transport.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
