Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Help keep streets clean and tidy for residents and visitors to Leicester.
Cleansing Services provide a variety of street cleaning operations to maintain a clean environment within designated areas across the city. We work in the heart of the communities to ensure local areas are clean, safe, and free from environmental issues.
Join our friendly and welcoming team who undertake statutory street cleaning duties. We take pride in the work we carry out and in providing an attractive place to live.
- You’ll have access to various LGV vehicles to carry out the role efficiently, as well as a uniform and PPE.
- You’ll be able to work in all weather conditions and unsociable hours.
- This is a full time, permanent role where you’ll work on a rota basis covering 5/6 days alternate shifts, including weekends.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working closely in a team and under the guidance of the Team Leader and Local Area Manager, you’ll undertake driving duties across the city to remove and dispose of debris and refuse at designated sites.
- You’ll carry out routine maintenance of vehicles including checking oil and water levels, tyres, batteries, and vehicle body checks.
- You’ll replace worn brushes, vacuum skirts, and filters on vehicles.

What You’ll Need
- With previous experience of driving, you’ll have a LGV driving licence.
- You’ll have an awareness of both health and safety and manual handling, with the ability to undertake continuous physical work.
- Using basic literacy and numeracy skills, you’ll ensure all paperwork is completed such as updating logbooks, tachographs and daily driving records.
- You’ll have good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work in a team and respond politely to members of the public.
- With a positive attitude and enthusiasm, you’ll be committed to keeping our streets clean.
