We are recruiting a qualified and experienced LGV Driver

We are recruiting a qualified and experienced LGV Driver to join our growing transport team at the Howden site, East Yorkshire.

As an LGV Driver, you’ll need

  • Solid experience working in a busy transport operation
  • A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Working under the guidance of the site Transport Supervisors

Your main responsibility is to move products safely and efficiently between Howdens sites in line with the planned delivery schedule. This role plays an important part in the performance of the wider network, ensuring customers receive their products on time and in perfect condition.

£51,839.32 + £4,059.12 Shift Allowance

What you will be doing as an LGV Driver

  • Trunking movements through PDC’s / out bases (nights)
  • Weekend work required through our peak period (October)
  • Hours of work average 50 hours p/w
  • Working within the SHE guidelines
  • Driving to company performance parameters

What do you need to qualify for the LGV Driver

  • Excellent knowledge of driver regulations/WTD
  • Hold a full, clean, and up to date LGV driving license
  • Have experience in a fast-paced supply chain environment preferably haulage
  • Have a can do, service driven attitude and a desire to deliver our product safely and carefully
  • Be committed and comfortable with working long hours alone on the road
  • Although this is a night shift role, a degree of flexibility is required with the ability to fulfil driver contractual hours which may include weekends and additional hours at peak trading times
