Are you a natural leader with a passion for people? Perhaps you are looking to bring your managerial experience into a new industry? Look no further as Ocado is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as an LGV Team Manager!

About the Role

We're seeking a manager passionate about learning, leading and logistics to manage a team in our LGV department. As a LGV Team Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of our LGV operation, including fleet, facilities, and team management. You'll ensure efficient and professional service delivery across a variety of shifts, including both day and night shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading company and develop your career in a vital role.

Experience in logistics and transportation will be advantageous but is not required. If you can demonstrate your transferrable skills we would still love to hear from you!

  • Manage daily operations, shift schedules, and fleet management.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of drivers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Exceed customer expectations through excellent service delivery.
  • Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
  • Represent the Ocado brand professionally.

About You

We believe that great leaders come from various backgrounds. If you have the following, we want to hear from you!

Essential

  • Experience managing people in teams.
  • Strong customer service skills (internal and external).
  • Management or supervisory experience, especially with large groups.
  • Current UK Driving License.

Bonus Points (We’ll Provide Training!)

  • Excellent highway code knowledge.
  • Knowledge of EU and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders and service providers.
  • Familiarity with HR policies and procedures.
  • People management and team-building skills.
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment, Fleet, or Health and Safety.
  • CPC National or International Road Haulage qualifications (we will support you in gaining these).

Transferable Skills Are Key!

Even if you don't have specific LGV experience, if you have managed large teams, coordinated logistics/ vehicle fleets, or have experience in a large-scale, demanding environment, your skills are valuable to us! We're looking for individuals who are:

  • Calm and focused under pressure.
  • Strong communicators.
