Job Opportunity in Older Adult Mental Health Services in Fife
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within older adult mental health services in Fife. The service is seeking a highly specialist mental health nurse with significant experience in older adult mental health and/or mental health liaison services.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership within the older adult mental health hospital liaison service, delivering specialist assessment, consultation, and intervention for older adults with dementia, delirium, depression, anxiety, and other complex mental health needs within the acute and community hospital settings. The successful candidate will work autonomously while supporting the wider multi-disciplinary team and promoting person-centred care which is evidence-based.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage clinical risk.
- Undertake comprehensive bio psychosocial and cognitive assessments.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and education to nursing staff and students.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, clinical audit, and service development.
- Work collaboratively with Consultants, GPs, community mental health teams, social work, care homes, and third-sector organisations.
- Contribute to governance, incident review, and continuous improvement.
